What is IACET?

IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training.

Organizations can apply to become an IACET accredited provider by documenting alignment to IACET standards.

Once accredited, an organization can offer IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard.

In Early Childhood Education, IACET CEUs are acknowledged by many state registries and programs.

Is ChildPlus IACET Accredited?

ChildPlus is a Procare Solutions Company. Procare Solutions is an IACET accredited provider, meaning that you can earn CEUs for ChildPlus Continuing Education courses and certifications!

What is a CEU?

CEU stands for continuing education unit and is the way that training is measured by IACET and many other continuing education programs.

Each hour of training equates 0.1 CEUs, so a 10 hour training would result in 1 CEU.

Certificates provided for training from ChildPlus Continuing Education indicate both how many hours and how many CEUs were earned from a training event.

Do my courses get reported to my state?

Attendance for courses (not certifications) will be reported to states that require that the organization report attendance. Courses are approved in all states, but only states that require that the training organization report attendance will be reported to. In states without mandated reporting, participants will upload their own course completion certificates to the appropriate state agency for verification. ChildPlus Continuing Education currently reports attendance in the following states:
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Georgia
  • Idaho
  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Maryland
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Missouri
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • North Dakota
  • Ohio
  • Oklahoma
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin
  • Wyoming
Attendance for ChildPlus certifications will not be reported and is not guaranteed to meet state licensing requirements.

What is the difference between a course and a certification?

ChildPlus Continuing Education offers two main types of asynchronous learning: courses and certifications.

Courses refer to traditional professional development courses that cover a wide range of general industry knowledge, like potty training, behavior management, or emergency preparedness. Usually, these courses are taken individually and last between 1 and 3 hours. These courses are approved by all states and are cross walked with CDA competencies. Successful completion of these courses will be reported to state registries where required.

Certifications refer to comprehensive ChildPlus software training that encompasses more than ten hours of content related to a ChildPlus feature. These certifications are not acknowledged by some state registries and attendance is not reported for completing a certification.

What if my state requires a custom certificate?

ChildPlus Continuing Education offers custom certificates for courses (not certifications) in the following states:
  • Colorado
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Louisiana
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • Nevada
  • North Carolina
  • Texas
Your custom certificate will be emailed to you within 10 days of completing the course, provided you have correctly indicated your state and registry ID number (if applicable).
