Pregnancy & Birth
This unit covers modules that are typically associated with Early Head Start programs. Agencies operating Head Start and Migrant programs are still encouraged to fully engage with unit materials as it covers modules that can be useful for all program options.
Pregnancy
For accurate reporting, adult applicants served by the Early Head Start program must have a pregnancy record. Pregnancy records are created and maintained in the Pregnancy module. Failure to create a record will have a negative impact on PIR calculations.
Birth
The Birth module is typically used to gather information about an infant such as weight, facility and observable issues. Data captured here is used to identify concerns that may warrant early intervention. There are not PIR fields associated with the Birth module. Agencies may want to attach a copy of the birth certificate here or in the Application module.
